I got an email from Jenny about a cause that she works with called Sweety Girls. The website promotes online safety through a popular teen web-series:

At Sweety High we promote online safety in an environment which allows girls to express themselves through arts, sports and music. Our site runs an anti-cyber bulling campaign and to promote it we are running a one week TWILIGHT contest. We were wondering if you’d help us promote online safety and help raise the issues of cyber bullying through Sweety High? We are a start up company, but given the issues of cyber bullying are on the rise we are trying to reach a large number of girls and quickly, and what better way to do that than through Twilight!

At the moment, they are running a competition where one lucky fan can win Eclipse tickets for them and five of their friends! The night will also include dinner for everyone!

Yahoo! once again has done an article with Twilight and this time it is the Cullen house in Forks!

Being a vampire in Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight” series certainly has its perks: In addition to possessing devastating good looks, immortality, and superhero strength, Meyer’s blood-sucking movie brood live in the most luxurious, slick, beautifully appointed house in town. This week, CNN Money revealed that the real-life Cullen family abode (or, at least, the estate-turned-movie-set for Robert Pattinson and company in the film adaptation of “New Moon”)—an ultramodern, immaculately renovated, modernist spread in West Vancouver—is currently on the market for a cool $2,998,000. That may seem steep, but it’s an outright bargain compared to the original price tag ($3.298,000) when the home was first listed by agent Jason Soprovich last November.

Amanda Bell, aka the Twilight Examiner, has written a piece about how the media bashing of Twilight has gotten ridiculous.

“That’s it. Somebody has to say it. Enough with the passive aggressive Twilight fan-bashing already.

Today, an article by the Frisky’s Nikki Dowling has effectively taken a place as the 1,037,394th (rough estimate, naturally) article writer to take a stab at fans of the Twilight series and their interest in becoming an active community.

For months, it has been a running gag. Media outlets post snippets of information about the Twilight series, its cast, the studio involved, and the fans, but they do so under the auspices of irritation. An air of accomplishment accompanies their snarky remarks about fans of the series.

Today’s article is a prime example of that incessant patronization.”

Twilight Proms is a brand new style of weekend event for fans of the Twilight saga! This event will be held from Friday 18th – Sunday 20th of September 2009 and will be split into two venues! That’s right, our Twilight guests are going on the road! Friday night and Saturday the guests will be at the London venue, while Saturday night and Sunday they will be joining the fans in Birmingham. There will be activities each day from the usual guest talks and autograph sessions to late night parties – for more information on these, check out our events section.
